Uniweld PLD33V Halide Leak Detector Propane With Probe Hose & Valve
Uniweld
PART# PLD33V
REFRIGERANT LEAK DETECTOR
Uses Propane Fuel
Includes Hose and valve that screws on top of the disposable propane tanks.
Uniweld's Propane Halide Leak Detector instantly locates non-combustible halide (CFC & HCFC) refrigerant gas leaks.
Leaks are located when the chlorine based refrigerant gases are drawn in through the probe hose and exposed to a heated copper reactor plate, changing the blue flame to green.
This detector is very sensitive and can be used to locate leaks as small as 20 ppm of CFC and HCFC refrigerants.
What is a halide torch?
A halide torch is an inexpensive leak detector that is fast and reliable, but can only be used to detect chlorinated refrigerants.
It can be used to detect leaks as small as ½ ounce per year.
A halide torch works on the principle that air is drawn over a copper element heated by a hydrocarbon fuel.
