This handle material is made from Copper Ore. The knife is perfect for skinning/cutting larger fish. Very sharp, holds an edge.

Some of my knives have my trademark, "Howling Coyote Knives" stamped on the blade. If so, it is shown in the photos.

I retired in 2015 rather suddenly for medical reasons. At the time I owned 2 jewelry stores AND a production shop where we manufactured items for our stores and many other jewelers on a wholesale basis. As a part time hobby which dovetailed nicely into the the jewelry business, we put gemstone handles on knife blanks that I purchased at the Oregon Knife Collectors Assn annual show and convention. We had nothing to do with the knife blanks, I simply bought them from reputable vendors at the show. The show was advertised at the time as the largest knife show west of the Mississippi River. As a member of the Association, I had a sales booth at the show. About 350-400 vendors participated, with 5-6,000 show attendees. At each show I ever went to, I was the
ONLY
booth with stone handled knives. All I remember is almost all of the knife blanks are made from Stainless Steel and are imported.
Stone handled knives have many advantages. There are a zillion bone, horn, antler, wood, ivory or composite handled knives in the world. Not so with stone. Stone is not as slippery as other handle materials because it is porous to a small degree and washes easily with water. If your skinning or cutting meat, non-slip is a big advantage. When it is cold, other materials do not absorb your body heat, stone does very well. The colder it is, the warmer the knife in your hand is in comparison. I have never had a stone handled knife break, ever. But most of all, each knife is a
OOAK, ONE OF A KIND. A thing of beauty to be proud of.
