Antique Belle Epoque era French sterling silver and cut glass vanity set. Comprising of a perfume or cologne bottle, a rouge pot, tall cylindrical powder jar, and two lidded rectangular boxes. Each of clear glass cut with fluted panels. Topped by French sterling silver lids. The silver is decorated with intricate engine-turned guilloche engraving, with ornate cartouches, with acanthus and reed borders. Gold vermeil finish to the interiors. The bottle retains original glass stopper. Overall a beautiful set of elegant styling. Hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark, in use from 1838, which depicts the goddess Minerva with a number 1 beside her to denote a silver content of 950/1000 (of 95% pure silver and a higher finesse than .925 sterling). The lid of the bottle bears a hallmark of the French wild boar. Bearing maker's marks, slightly rubbed but appears to be that of silversmith Joseph Chaumet, active 1890 - 1928 at 62 rue de Richelieu, Paris. In overall good antique condition. Surface scratches to the bases, some cloudiness to the interior of the powder jar and small rectangle box. A nick to the rim of the cylindrical powder jar.
